Emma, Bonnie and Dan at the world premiere of the last film. During the public speech, Emma and other cast members got emotional as well, while Rowling commented, "Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home."

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2, which had its world premiere last Thursday at Trafalgar Square in London, is going to be released with 600 prints across India in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telegu. It is to be noted, that it is going to be first Potter film with such a enormous print count. Part One was released with 433 prints across India.

The film will be released in both 2D and 3D formats, and will give a good competition to 'Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara' countrywide. All fans are eagerly waiting for the finale on Friday, July 15th.

New trailer to hit internet on 17th July

The newest international trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is going to be released online via Apple trailers on 04:30 AM Friday June 17, 2011 IST, which is unfortunately, too early in the morning.

The release date for India is 15th July 2011. The first part of the two-part production is out on DVD and you can buy it for Rs. 599.

Pogo to air Deathly Hallows special and TV premiere of HBP

Finally Pogo is promoting the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, with a special red carpet/TV special on Thursday, November 18.

Pogo is also playing all six Harry Potter films, notably Indian TV premiere for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (in Hindi, ofcourse), which is going to be broadcasted on Sunday, 11.30 AM. You can also win a trip to UK and much more by answering some simple questions based on HP during the airings.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows releases nationwide on Friday, 19th November 2010 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telegu.

A new theatrical trailer for 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part One' has found its way through the internet. It shows a lot of new footage, including wedding attack, seven potters, action at Malfoy Manor and more.

Finally, the drought of media for the latest Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is over, as several new images have surfaced online via different sources throughout the internet. It is coincidental with the release of new, and first Official Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows trailer for both parts, which is going to release on 29th at late night 3:30 AM IST, unfortunately. In simple terms, the trailer will hit net within 8 hours from the time of this post.
Those people who are planning to see it at midnight should check other fansites such as Mugglenet, Leaky Cauldron or Snitch Seeker for the links, after 8 hours from now.

Updated :New Deathly Hallows clip to air on MTV Movie Awards

There is a bit of news coming from net, that brand new Deathly Hallows clip is going to be broadcasted live on Sunday 9 PM Onwards EST [i.e. Monday 6.30 AM onwards IST] on MTV International and VH1.

The clip, however, for the time being, is unknown whether it will be any new trailer or any short clip of any scene from the film. The clip will be most probably online by 10 AM Monday, June 7th 2010.

Also, Half-Blood Prince is nominated for five awards in different categories, including Best Villain for Tom Felton for portraying Draco Malfoy.

There are also some brand new pictures from the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2010 Calendar. It includes exciting images from both Part 1 and Part 2. You can check scans from the calendar here, courtesy of Snitch Seeker.

Script Excerpt from Deathly Hallows

From a reliable source, IMDB user Phoenix123 has posted some new scripts excerpts from Deathly Hallows Part 1.

The excerpts are basically from beginning of Seven Potters scene and its aftermath.

Though it is pretty legit and not fake, however, it should not be considered as 100% reliable.

Spoilers ahead:-

A TREMENDOUS ROAR murders the silence, the roar of a MOTOR
BIKE. Harry straightens--half-believing he's dreamed it
into existence--and STRIKES his head on the low door frame.

19 INT. HALLWAY/KITCHEN - SAME TIME - NIGHT

Harry pelts down the dark halls as OPAQUE SHAPES race past
the windows. He trips past Hedwig's cage, sending it
WOBBLING and flings open the front door.

20 EXT. FRONT DOOR - CONTINOUS - NIGHT

HERMIONE flings her arms around Harry. RON gives him a clap
on the back. Others emerge from the shadows: FRED, GEORGE,
BILL, FLEUR, TONKS, LUPIN, ARTHUR WEASLEY, MAD-EYE MOODY,
KINGSLEY SHACKLEBOLT and a small, dirty, hangdog man,
MUNDUNGUS FLETCHER. Lastly, HAGRID dismounts a MOTORBIKE,
strips a pair of fly-specked goggles from his face and
yanks a SMALL TWITTERING BIRD from his beard.

HAGRID
All righ', 'arry? Yeh look fit.

MAD-EYE
Yeah, he's ruddy gorgeous. What
say we get undercover before
someone murders him.

21 INT. SITTING ROOM/KITCHEN - NIGHT

Everyone spills down the hallway into the sitting room.

HARRY
I thought you were looking after
the Prime Minister, Kingsley.

SHACKLEBOLT
You're more important.

Harry grins, then a tall, red-headed man (BILL WEASLEY) is
before him, hand extended. His face is horribly SCARRED.

BILL
Hello, Harry. Bill Weasley.

FRED
Wasn't always this handsome.

GEORGE
Dead ugly.

BILL
(smiling; to Harry)
True enough. Owe it all to a
werewolf by name of Greyback.
Hope to repay the favor one day.

FLEUR
(a kiss to the cheek)
You are still beautiful to me,
William.

LUPIN
Just remember, Fleur, once you're
married: Bill takes his steaks on
the raw side now.

TONKS
My husband, the joker. By the
way, wait until you hear the
news! Remus and I are--

MAD-EYE
All right, all right! You'll all
have time for a cozy catch-up
later! We've got to get the hell
out of here and soon!

Moody drops some SACKS at his feet. Turns to Harry.

MAD-EYE (CONT'D)
Potter, you're underage, which
means you've still got the Trace
on you.

HARRY
The Trace?

MAD-EYE
You sneeze and the Ministry will
know who wiped your nose. Point
is, we have to use those means of
transport the Trace can't detect:
brooms, thestrals and the like.
We'll go in pairs, That way if
anyone's out there waiting for us-
-and I reckon there will be--they
won't know which Harry Potter is
the real one.

HARRY
The real one...?

Moody draws a FLASK from his cloak.

MAD-EYE
I believe you're familiar with
this particular brew.

HARRY
No! Absolutely not!

HERMIONE
(a sigh)
I told you he'd take it well.

HARRY
If you think I'm going to let
people rish their lives from me--

RON
Never done that before, have we?

HARRY
This is different. Taking that.
Becoming me--no.

FRED
Well, none of us really fancy it,
mate.

GEORGE
Yeah, imagine if something went
wrong and we were stuck as
scrawny, specky gits forever.

MAD-EYE
Everyone here's of age, Potter,
and they've all agreed to take
the risk.

MUNDUNGUS
Technically, I've been coerced.

MAD-EYE
Nip it, Mundungus! All right,
Granger, as discussed.

Hermione grabs a tuft of Harry's hair--yanks.

HARRY
Bilmey, Hermione!

MAD-EYE
Straight in here, if you please.

Moody holds out the flask, un-stoppered now. The potion
inside begins spit forth smoke. He hands it to George.

MAD-EYE (CONT'D)
For those of you who haven't
taken Polyjuice Potion before,
fair warning. It tastes like
goblin piss.

FRED
Have a lot of experiance with
that, do you, Mad-Eye?

Moody's eye rotates menacingly onto Fred.

FRED (CONT'D)
Just trying to defuse the
tension.

Fred takes the flask from George, followed by Ron,
Hermione, Fleur and Mundungus, who attempts a feeble bit of
fakery by wiping his mouth theatrically.

MAD-EYE
Try again, Dung, or I'll pour it
down yout thievin' throat myself.

Grumpily, Mundungus complies. Seconds later, his features--
like those of the others--begin to bubble like hot wax. As
the transformation completes, seven Harry Potters stand in
the tiny kitchen.

FRED/GEORGE
Wow--we're identical!

MAD-EYE
Not quite.

Moody pulls the ties on the SACKS and pulls out SEVEN
IDENTICAL OUTFITS.

MAD-EYE (CONT'D)
Sort yourselves out. Those whose
clothes are a bit roomy, I've got
smaller here and vice versa. And
don't forget the glasses.
(to Harry)
You'll need to change too,
Potter.

Harry, a bit self-consciously, begins to strip down. The
others, meanwhile, appear quite unconcerned to be exposing
Harry's body.

FLEUR
Bill, look away--I'm 'ideous.

RON
(smirking)
I knew Ginny was lying about that
tattoo.

HERMIONE
Harry, your eyesight really is
awful.

MAD-EYE
We'll be pairing off. Each of you
will have a protector. As for
you, Potter...

ALL
Yes?

MAD-EYE
The real Potter! Where the devil
are you, anyway?

HARRY
Here.

Moody's eye rotates onto the real Harry.

MAD-EYE
You'll ride with Hagrid.

HAGRID
Brought yeh here sixteen years
ago when you were barely bigger
than a bowtruckle. Seems only
righ' I should be the one ter
take yeh away.

MAD-EYE
Yeah, it's all very touching.
Let's go.

As they file out, grabs his rucksack and ponders Hedwig in
her cage. He snaps open the wire door and she flutters out,
swoops down the hallway and soars out the open door. Harry
glances once more down the hall, at the cupboard under the
stairs, then exits. We HOLD on Hedwig's empty cage.

22 EXT. PRIVET DRIVE - NIGHT

The other six Harrys sit upon thestrals and brooms. Hagrid
sits astride a motorbike, goggles on. As the real Harry
appears, Hagrid taps the sidecar and Harry drops in.

MAD-EYE
Good luck, everyone. On the count
of three. One...two--

Hagrid kicks his motorbike to life, lurches forward. Hedwig
swoops upward and beats toward the greasy moon. As Hagrid
roars into the sky, Harry twists round, watching one Harry
Potter after another whip past, watching Privet Drive grow
smaller, his eyes stinging in the wind, briefly lost in the
moment, when...

23 EXT. SKY - SAME TIME - NIGHT

...a DISTURBANCE FILLS THE AIR. Harry turns aways, looks up.
DEATH EATERS drop from the clouds, surround the others.
FLASHES of GREEN LIGHT splinter the darkness. Sparks
explode on the bike's chassis and Hagrid HOWLS in fury.

HARRY
Hagrid! We've got to help the
others!

HAGRID
Can't do it, 'arry. My job's ter
get you where were goin' safe 'n
sound--Mad-Eye's orders!

Before Harry can reply, FOUR DEATH EATERS jet out of the
darkness, robes snapping in the wind. As one, their wands

The second excerpt:-

Harry grins triumphantly when...a mad volley of WAND BLASTS
ricochet off the motorbike and Hedwig is gone. Harry
glances about desperately, when:

DEATH EATER
That's him! The real one!

The remaining Death Eaters fall back and disappear.

HAGRID
Hol' tight, 'arry! We've got ter
get yeh out of here!

Hagrid hits the purple button again and the motorbike
rockets forth. Harry gazes bleakly behind...then winces,
eyes rolling back in his head. Gripping his scar, he
squints toward the horizon and sees something closing on
them. It looks like smoke, then begins to take shape.

Voldemort. Flying. Slowly, Harry raises his wand.

HARRY
Hagrid....HAGRID...!

Harry lets out a primal scream, his eyes clenched shut in
pain, his wand hand trembling as he points it blindly.
Voldemort's snake-like face draws near, his wand trained on
Harry. Harry's arm goes slake, his wand dropping...

VOLDEMORT
Avada...

Abruptly, Harry's arm rises as if on a string, drawn up by
the wand trembling in his hand. GOLD FIRE spits forth and--
Crack!--SPARKS skitter up the chassis of the motorbike.
Harry wheels and--for a split second--is face to face with
Voldemort, whose eyes drift, staring--with something like
fear--at Harry's wand. Then--whoosh!--Voldemort peels
backward and away, evaporating like smoke. Just then...

...the motorbike's engine HICCUPS and Hagrid and Harry
begin to drop. PUTT...PUTT...PUTT...

28 EXT. THE BURROW - SAME TIME - NIGHT

The motorbike splashes down into the reeds, sputters, then
cuts out altogether in a SMOKING HISSSSS. Harry glances
about. A door opens in a crooked house. TWO SILHOUETTES
appear, dash forward--MRS. WEASLEY and GINNY.

MRS. WEASLEY
Harry! Hagrid! What happened!
Hve you seen the others?

HARRY
Is no one back yet?

He looks from Mrs. Weasley to Ginny. Ginny shakes her head.

HAGRID
They were on us from the star',
Molly--the Death Eaters. And You-
Know-Who as well.

Molly Weasley's face betrays panic, but she fights it back.

MRS. WEASLEY
Well, thank goodness you two are
all right.

HAGRID
Haven't go' any brandy, have yeh,
Molly? Fer medicinal purposes?

She nods, leads him toward the house. Once out of earshot,
Harry turns expectantly to Ginny. She looks frightened.

GINNY
Ron and Tonks should've already
been back. Dad and Fred as well.

Suddenly, several yards away, a BLUE LIGHT burns in the
darkness. Harry and Ginny rush towards it just as Lupin
materializes, cradling an unconscious "Harry," clothes
torn, head awash in BLOOD. Harry takes in the surreal
tableau, then watches "himself" transform into George, who
bears the true damage. Ginny's hands fly to her face.

GINNY (CONT'D)
Oh my God! George!

LUPIN
The house! Quickly!

29 INT. SITTING ROOM - WEASLEY HOUSE - MOMENTS LATER - NIGHT

Lupin and Harry drop George onto the sofa, where his head
rolls into the lamplight, the blood more shocking here.
Molly Weasley screams. George's ear is gone.

MRS. WEASLEY
My boy! My darling boy! What've
they done to you!

Harry looks on miserably--anger and guilt clashing within
him--when Lupin grabs a fistful of his shirt and hurls him
against the wall.

GINNY
Remus! What're you doing!

LUPIN
What creature sat in the corner
the first time that Harry Potter
visited my office at Hogwarts!

HARRY
Are you mad...?

LUPIN
WHAT CREATURE!

HARRY
A grindylow!

Lupin releases Harry, turns back to the others.

LUPIN
We've been betrayed. Voldemort
knew you were being moved
tonight. I had to make sure you
weren't an imposter.

HARRY
Who did this to him?

LUPIN
Snape.
(nodding to George)
He'll be fine, Molly. But that's
Dark Magic. The damage is done.

She simply nods, weeping, dabbing at George's face. A blue
glow glimmers against the window, where Hagrid stands.

HAGRID
Someone else is back.

30 EXT. YARD - THE BURROW - SECONDS LATER - NIGHT

Hermione and Kingsley stand together, looking shaken. As
the others rush forward, Kingsley points his wand at Lupin.

SHACKLEBOLT
The last words Albus Dumbledore
spoke to the pair of us?

LUPIN
'Harry is the best hope we have.
Trust him.'

Shacklebolt lowers his wand, wheels on Harry.

SHACKLEBOLT
What gave you away?

HARRY
Hedwig--I think. She was trying
to protect me--

Just then, the yard glows with BLUE LIGHT and one pair
after another materialize: Fred & Mr. Weasley, Bill &
Fleur, Ron & Tonks. Ron is still "Harry," but Hermione
doesn't hesitate, enveloping him in a fierce hug. As he
transforms back into his own battle-weary self, he looks
midly abashed to be in such close proximity to Hermione.

RON
Hey ya--Well...thanks.

TONKS
Deserves that. Brilliant, he was.
Wouldn't be standing here without
him.

HERMIONE
Really?

RON
(breaking free of her)
Always the tone of surprise.

ARTHUR WEASLEY
Are we the last? Where's George?

Suddenly silence. Mr. Weasley eyes all, turns to Lupin.

ARTHUR WEASLEY (CONT'D)
Remus. Where's my son?

31 INT. SITTING ROOM - WEASLEY HOUSE - MOMENTS LATER - NIGHT

Arthur Weasley, trailed by the others, stops dead. Molly
looks up, her face saying it all. Fred comes up on his
father's shoulder, eyes stinging with tears as he sees his
brother. As if sensing them, George stirs.

FRED
How do you feel, Georgie?

GEORGE
Saintlike.

FRED
Come again?

George opens his eyes, lifts a blood-crusted finger, and
points to the dark cavity in the side of his skull.

GEORGE
Saintlike...You see, I'm holy.
Holey, Fred, geddit?

FRED
With the whole wide world of ear-
related humor at your disposal,
you go for holey? Pathetic.

GEORGE
Reckon I'm still better looking
than you. Better looking than
Bill, that's for sure.

Bill doesn't smile. Next to him, Fleur looks equally grim.

BILL
Mad-Eye's dead.

The room goes still.

BILL (CONT'D)
Mundungus took one look at
Voldemort and disapparated.

LUPIN
Madeye reckoned You-Know-Who
would expect the real Harry to be
with the most skilled Auror. He
knew he'd be in the most danger.

ARTHUR WEASLEY
It doesn't explain how they knew
we were moving Harry tonight.

The room grows quiet. Eyes shift.

HAGRID
Wha'? One of us? Tha's mad. I'd
wager my life it wasn' none of
you lot. An' if it was me I'd
kno', wouldn' I? Talk in me sleep
on occasion, I'll admit, but
there's only Fang aroun' ter hear
an' mostly it's gibberish an'
besides I'd cut me tongue out
'fore I'd betray 'arry e'en in me
dreams--

Hagrid stops, blinking miserably. Suddenly, all smile.

HAGRID (CONT'D)
Wha's so funny!

HARRY
I trust you with my life, Hagrid.
I trust everyone in this room.
Understood?

LUPIN
Understood.

GEORGE
'ear, 'ear.

Fred nods approvingly to his brother.

FRED
Better.

32 EXT. YARD - THE BURROW - LATER - NIGHT

The crooked house is silent. Harry stands alone, eyeing his
wand. Then...Hermione and Ron appear.

RON
For the record, George would do
it again in a heartbeat.

HARRY
And Madeye?

RON
We know what we're up against,
mate.

HARRY
Something strange happened
tonight when I was fighting off
Voldemort. It wasn't really me
that did it.

HERMIONE
What d'you mean 'wasn't you'?

HARRY
I froze. My wand saved me. It
acted on its own.

HERMIONE
Wands don't work that way, Harry.

HARRY
I'm telling you what happened.

Hermione and Ron stare at Harry's outstretched hand.

HARRY (CONT'D)
I think we should leave tonight.

HERMIONE
Not possible. You've still got
the Trace on you. And anyway, I
need another day or two to
prepare.

Harry looks frustrated, then notices Ginny standing in the
shadows of the porch. She turns, enters the house.

RON
I've been wondering something.
You-Know-Who hid his soul in
seven Horcruxes, right? And two
have been destroyed, right? Do
you think he knows that part of
him is dead? Does he feel it?

HARRY
I don't care. Let's just find the
other five and kill what remains.

33 INT. RON'S ROOM - LATER - NIGHT

Shadows cling to the ceiling. Ron snores lightly on the bed
while Harry tosses fitfully upon the floor. Suddenly, his
SCAR CONTRACTS. He GRIMACES.

VOLDEMORT (O.S.)
You lied to me, Ollivander!

34 INT. CELLAR - MALFOY MANOR - NIGHT

At the bottom of a run of rotting wooden stairs, Wormtail
props up an emaciated OLLIVANDER. In the CRACKED surface of
a TALL MIRROR, we see Voldemort reflected at the top of the
stairs--an angry silhouette.

OLLIVANDER
No! No! I believed a different
wand would work, I swear!

VOLDEMORT
Then explain this!

Voldemort extends his skeletal fingers. Lucius Malfoy's
wand lies shattered upon his ghostly skin.

OLLIVANDER
But it makes no sense...

VOLDEMORT
Perhaps our friend's loyalties
lie elsewhere, Wormtail.

OLLIVANDER
No! There must be a way! I'll
think of something else!

VOLDEMORT
I hope so, Ollivander, for your
sake. I won't be so forgiving
next time...

Half-Blood Prince nominated for Best Cinematography Oscar

Finally, the 82nd Academy Awards nominations are announced and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has got a nomination for Best Cinematography. Bruno Delbonnel will probably attend the ceremony on 7th March this year.

Half-Blood Prince will compete against films like and Avatar, Inglorious Basterds, The White Ribbon and The Hurt Locker.

HBP a semifinalist for a VFX Oscar nomination

Its a good news today, as Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released their list of 15 movies, which are to be short-listed for Visual Effect Nomination.
Out of these 15, 7 will be short-listed in early January and only 3 will be nominated for Visual Effects Oscar.

HBP is also in the race, as you can read the list here. There is a tough competition, and let us see what this Award season has for Half-Blood Prince.

This time, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been nominated for 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, for 'Best Score Soundtrack' category.

It is very cool that Nicholas Hooper has finally got some recognizance for his work. He is really a great composer in my opinion.

Half-Blood Prince is up against The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" (composed by Alexander Desplat), "Milk" (Danny Elfman), "Star Trek" (Michael Giacchino) and "Up" (Giacchino).

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards will take place on January 31, 2010.

Dan to be naked in Deathly Hallows, HBP nominated for Satellite Award

Anyways, lets start with some news, Daniel Radcliffe will appear naked for a scene in Deathly Hallows. As most of you will recall, Ron sees some disorted memories, like Harry embracing Hermione in the chapter Silver Doe of the final book.

It will rather unclear for the time being that whether any on-screen nudity will be shown or not, but it is possible that it will be implied.

So, girls, take a deep breath and wait for July 2009.

In another news, Half-Blood Prince has been nominated for Satellite Award for 'Best Picture (animated or mixed media). Lets see what Awards season brings for HBP!!!

Although US/UK release date was changed to 15th July some months ago, it is now confirmed that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is going to be released on 16th July [Thursday] next week, in both conventional and IMAX-3D cinemas.

It is worth to describe that HBP's IMAX release was postponed to 29th July in many other countries, Indian fans are lucky that they will be experience HBP in IMAX theatres before US/UK.

Half-Blood Prince in Hindi to be release on 17th July

Speculative runtime for 'the Half-Blood Prince'

As you all know, David Heyman once quoted that HBP is going to have a runtime around 2 hours and 30 minutes. In my thoughts, I assume that Half-blood Prince will have a runtime of 142 minutes to 148 minutes.

My instinct says that the film is going to have a speculative runtime of 146 minutes - my guess for OOTP was a pretty much bulls-eye, if you remember (here's the post) I predicted 137 minutes and the actual runtime was 138 minutes.

Anyway, everything will be clear after some weeks, so keep checking.

HBP release date changed once again, another trailer on Friday

Hey guys, there is quite a lot going around at the moment. Firstly, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince's release date has been changed once again and this time, thankfully it has been pushed earlier by two days. The new release date is 15th July, 2009 for UK and USA.
Please note - it is unconfirmed whether the release date for India (17th July) will also change. Keep your fingers crossed.

Another big news is that WB is going to release another new trailer for HBP, it will debut on Thursday evening in USA by satellite. That means, we are going to get it by Friday morning (17th April). Get ready for another spoiler!

A piece news is coming from MPAA that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is rated PG for scary images, some violence, language and mild sensuality.
That means it will contain comparatively low level of sex, violence and profanity. Everything will be suitable for all children.
This is for sure that 'kisses' in the movie are going to be more long and more hot as compared to Order of the Phoenix's dumb kiss :) !

This is the first movie to be rated PG after Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix. I think this movie should have been rated PG-13 instead of PG, but still I'm optimistic about this movie.

Dark Knight Climbing the box-office stairs

Dark Knight has broke the record of Sorcerer's Stone and it is now currently the fourth highest grossing film of all time worldwide. Sorcerer's Stone film is now on fifth spot and there are only two Harry Potter movies in top 10 worldwide chart (SOS and OOTP).

Dark Knight breaks OOTP's record

Report on the Cave Scene

Here is another report from Chicago test screening of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, due to release next year.

Report has detailed description on the Cave scene, Inferi and the action in Astronomy Tower.
Since it is big spoiler, please do not read this if you don't want to spoil your next year.
<<< I am so sorry everyone, in my haste to write my review I completely forgot the cave scene! So here it is-

Dumbledore meets Harry at the top of the Astronomy tower and they apparate to outside the cave. As they are leaving Harry is surprised that that they can apparate from within the Hogwarts grounds, and Dumbledore says something along the lines of “That’s the beauty of being headmaster.”

The scene they apparate to, despite being slightly unfinished was nonetheless absolutely breathtaking. Cliffs and huge waves dominate the scene. Dumbledore finds their way to the anti-chamber and slits his hand (for you star trek fans – he does it in a Klingon way – straight across the inside of his hand). The wall crumbles away and Dumbledore explains to Harry that Voldemort would have set up defenses around the Horcrux.

The cave is very different than what I had pictured and than all the fan art I have seen, but still a chilling and amazing sight. It reminded me a bit of a normal cave mixed with the ice crystal place Superman goes to in one of his movies. The whole cave is a vast formation of huge crystals, jagged and rough, jutting out from the ceiling walls and floor.

They make their way to the water and Dumbledore cautions Harry not to touch it and he starts to raise the boat with magic. Then he has Harry reel it in with a very heavy long chain.

The island is a formation of crystals as is the basin. Now the only really cheesy and unspectacular thing about this whole scene is that they use a large white clam shell partially imbedded in a small rock to scoop up the potion. In my opinion it looked rather silly. Dumbledore tell Harry to force him to drink the potion and Gambon once again does a slightly better than usual job being forced to drink the potion.

At one point towards the end you can very softly hear Dumbledore mumble something like “please don’t hurt them, it’s all my fault.” But it was almost inaudible and I doubt anyone who has not read the book caught the line at all. Then after the last scoop is drunk, Gambon kind of goes back to his rather poor, unresearched acting and says with far too much strength. “Harry, Water.”

But first Harry goes back to the Basin and recovers the locket and in the background we can hear Dumbledore saying “Harry, water” getting slightly weaker each time he says it. Harry attempts to fill the basin with water the aguamenti charm, but can not get the scoop the water up with that silly shell. After trying several times and Dumbledore starting to collapse he goes to the lake to fill it there.

Suddenly the light that was emanating from the island with the basin goes out, and Harry lights his wand (most unfortunately with the non-existent spell luminous-maximus, or whatever it was he used in the beginning of the third movie), and slowly reaches down to scoop up the lake water. The moment he touches it a hand reaches out and grabs Harry’s wrist. The whole audience jumped in fear. Harry tries to fend off the inferi with all the spells we hear him try in the books. But in the end he is pulled down into the water.

Before I go on I must say the Inferi scene was one of the most spectacular of this movie. They looked a bit like the newer version of the Dementor, but much more human shaped and brownish. I fear I am not describing them well, because they were truly a scary site to see. The camera angles captured the scene of Harry trying hopelessly to defend himself and Dumbledore from them as they clambered onto the island from all different angles and the sheer number of them eventually overwhelms Harry and he is pulled down deep into the lake.

While Harry is underwater the view we have is from below him looking up and we can see the whole island from below as well. Suddenly the Inferi holding Harry releases him and he swims up to a surface covered in ferocious flame. The “ring of fire” Dumbledore conjures is an unbelievable sight, far more than I think anyone pictured in the books, but incredibly spectacular. Harry and Dumbledore climb back in the boat and the scene then cuts to Harry helping Dumbledore through the cave.

The every so anticipated lines of (I am paraphrasing) “Don’t worry sir, I’ll get us back” and Dumbledore replying “I am not worried, I am with you” are said. Executed very well by Radcliffe though rather poorly in my opinion by Gambon who clearly does not know the significant emotional value we fans know those lines have.

They then apparate back to the top of the astronomy tower. There is no dark mark in the sky. But as Dumbledore says he needs Severus not Madame Pomfrey they hear a commotion and Dumbledore orders Harry to go and hide and not come out or interfere. A command the book Harry would never have followed, but that the movie Harry would obey. Harry goes underneath the wooden floor of the tower where Dumbledore is standing where he can see everything through large gaps between the wood slates. Draco arrives and Tom does a brilliant job as a boy trying to be fierce and terrified at the same time. Some lines from the book are rather butchered by Dumbledore saying things like “Draco, you are not an assassin.” Then the Death Eaters arrive all in masks except Bellatrix and Greyback. Bellatrix urges Draco to do it though his wand lowers slightly.

Meanwhile under the floor Harry who is watching terrified with his wand at the ready is sneaked up on by Snape, whose wand is also out and puts his finger to his lips to make sure Harry stays quiet. My description does not quite capture that scene well enough, but I was surprised to find my heart ripping, perhaps because I knew what was going to happen when Snape appeared there. Snape quietly appears above, and Dumbledore, with far too much strength says “Severus Please.”

And Snape does the Avada Kadavra, and Bellatrix is ecstatic. The scene with Dumbledore being lifted into the air was unfortunately unfinished because we see him up in the air and then apparently falling down the side of the tower, but there was no motion yet. He is stationary in both scenes. I am sure more special effects will be added later. Then Bellatrix casts the Dark Mark (another amazing updated special effect with a black smoke skull and snake tongue). The Deatheaters all run out, destroying a bit of the castle in a euphoric tantrum along the way. There is no battle inside Hogwarts and the only one to chase them is Harry.

There was no Amycus or Alecto anywhere I could see. Oh, and there is no Rosmerta either. Forgot to mention that before.

Anyway, the Deatheaters set Hagrid’s hut on fire and the scene I already described happens between Harry and Snape. Harry then returns to find the whole school gathered around Dumbledore’s body, McGonagall in the front completely stunned and silent. Harry kneels down at Dumbledore’s side, brushes a hair out of his face and finds the locket, but does not open it. Clutching the locket He starts to cry and Ginny goes and holds him also crying. Then following McGonagall’s lead, everyone lights there wand (I think they all murmur something in unison but I can’t remember what) and slowly raise them as one in the air. Final shot of that scene is from above with all the lighted wands surrounding the tower, Dumbledore, Harry and Ginny.>>>

HBP shown at Chicago

Lucky Chicago folks got a chance of watching a pre-screening of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood prince, which is going to release around 10 months from now.
Fans and some other people from movie industry attended this screening, yesterday night.
So, here is a review, which you may be interested in.
Please note that it is a huge spoiler, I haven't read it myself .

<<<Today I got to see the test screening of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It took place in Chicago at the AMC River East. It was a secret screening, no one in the audience was supposed to know before hand what they were seeing. I was one of only a small handful who already knew what we would be seeing, but I was sworn to secrecy. It was truly the hardest secret I ever had to keep.

It was not entirely complete, however aside from a few blue screens in the background, and one or two special effects missing, it was barely noticeable.

I am a huge fan of Ginny and Harry so I will start with them. There is a lot more Ginny than ever before. She nearly equaled Ron for screen time. We first see her at the Burrow when Harry arrives outside and the first thing he sees is her reading through the window. Harry Just stands there for a moment, gazing up at her. Although she is dating Dean Thomas she never looks happy with him, except when she is snogging him at The Three Broomsticks. She was on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. But the only game we saw was from the Felix Felicis chapter when Ron believes Harry has slipped him the potion. During Christmas at the Burrow, Ginny and Harry wind up on the stairs alone and start to lean into each other to kiss, when the attack on the Burrow interrupts them.

The Burrow does not burn down, but it is surrounded by a ring of fire conjured by Bellatrix. Harry, seeing Bellatrix, runs after her, and Ginny runs after him, right into Greyback. But Harry comes to the rescue and the two of them stand in a very high growing cornfield fending off attacks from the deatheaters. Lupin and Tonks come to the rescue, but that is I believe the last we see of them. There is no Tonks and Lupin relationship and although Tonks’ hair is brown there is no notice taken or any explanation given.

Tom Felton did a fantastic job in this film. Draco character remains true to the book, he even stamps on Harry’s nose. But, sadly, we never get the pleasure of seeing Crabb and Goyle disguised as girls. In fact, they are hardly in this movie. The Sectumsempra scene was really good, even without moaning Myrtle. As Harry and Draco throw spells at each other poor Nigel sits frozen on one of the toilets. Snape runs in shortly and McGonagall is in the doorway after Harry cast the spell (Draco never yells Crucio) and he does do a cure his wounds with a spell that sounds almost like song. But he does not use legilimency on Harry, who runs straight out of the bathroom to McGonagall. In the next scene Hermione and Ginny band together and tell Harry to hide the potions book so not even Harry can find it. Ginny takes Harry to the room of Requirement, and makes him close his eyes while she hides the book. Then she kisses him briefly. By the time he opens his eyes she has vanished.

There was definitely tension between Ron and Hermione. In the very beginning at the Burrow, Ron cleans off a bit of toothpaste from Hermione’s cheek. Later in Slughorn’s class she describes what she smells in the love potion and trails off with “spearmint toothpaste…” Lavender is quite nauseating and although she never gives Ron a necklace she does something equally as vomit worthy, steaming up a window on the Hogwarts Express with her breath and drawing a heart with “R + L” inside it. His relationship ends when he is unconscious and moaning Hermione’s name after being poisoned. He remains confused about why it ended but very relieved.

The kid who played young Tom Riddle was Brilliant. His voice and demeanor raised the hairs on the back of my neck. There is no mention of the Gaunts, but the scene in Slughorn’s office is there. Dumbledore however is truly surprised to learn that Riddle made 7 Horcruxes. It is in that scene that he realizes the ring is a Horcrux. He realizes what it was because when harry handles it briefly he moved his head like Voldemort.

We do get to hear Hagrid and Slughorn singing about Odo the Hero, and Harry is funny and a few lines where true to the book while under the influence of Felix Felicis. There is no Professor Trelawney, or the Dursleys. No Kreacher (no mention of inheriting Grimmauld Place whatsoever) or Dobby, or Bill and Fleur. There are no scenes with the Minister of Magic, and I don’t believe they even mentioned Fudge was sacked (though I may have missed it).

Oh and most sadly of all, no description from Luna about the dangers of the Rotfang Conspiracy. Nor does she commentate the Quidditch match. Luna’s role was very small, but she does have the lion hat and she is the one to find Harry on the train under the invisibility cloak with the help of her Spectrespecs.

Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes was awesome!!! I only wish it were a real store. Unfortunately no U-No-Poo sign, but it was still a sight to see.

The scene with Harry and Snape at the end was the least finished of the movie; the background was mostly screens and lights and occasionally a sound persons head. It was very close to the book, though I thought Snape could have been stronger and angrier, when Harry called him a coward. His some of his last words to Harry are “You may have your mother’s eyes but you are as dim as your father!”

As a huge fan of the books I have found myself getting more and more disappointed by all the changes in the movies and especially in Michael Gambon’s portrayal of Dumbledore who is my favorite character. That being said I was really pleasantly surprised by this movie. Many of the changes were actually entertaining and Gambon has improved enough to be tolerable. It was so much better than Order of the Phoenix. Overall I really enjoyed this movie and can not wait to see it again.>>>

WB sues Mirchi Movies for Hari Puttar

Warner Bros. has sued Mirchi Movies, a production house for using the name 'Hari Puttar' for a film. 'Hari Puttar' is a comedy movie which is going to release somewhere in September, which has no relation with Harry Potter.

This movie is NOT a spoof of Harry Potter, and it has no relation with Harry Potter at all. Anyway, since 'Hari Puttar' name is very commonly used in spoofs of Harry Potter, WB has sued the production company.

So, lets see what happens next, will WB win this case or not.

Since WB released a new date for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, fans all over the world already went mad. New communities, demanding a 2008 release for the new Harry Potter film, are formed and several petitions are created, within just 2 days of this horrible announcement.

And proof of this is 20000+ signatures of the petition, which I mentioned yesterday. There is still a big way to go, and we definately need to cross 50 thousand mark.

I'm sure, if we can make WB most financial successful studio through Harry Potter, we can also make WB to listen our demands. This is the time to show your power, all Harry Potter fans!

Half-blood Prince, in theatres 2008.... oh sorry 2009

Here is the big, outrageous, most scandalous and of course shocking news... Warner Bros. Pictures has delayed the release for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which was expected to release on 21st November 2008 but now the new release date is July 17th, 2009 which means almost 8 months more long to wait and from now, we have to wait 11 months.

It is a very unfair for all Harry Potter fans around the world. And the reason for this is something which makes a little or no sense at all. Editing of Half-Blood prince has already been completed and CGI is about to complete within end of this September. After that WB will put this movie in their vaults under tight security, and release it in July 2009. Isn't its stupid!

For meanwhile, please sign this petition. It hopefully will do something when it will get a million or more signatures.
This is disappointing, very disappointing.

Half-Blood Prince 'Proper' Teaser on this Tuesday

A good news today, WB has given us a new info on HBP trailer- The worldwide 'proper' teaser trailer (generally a teaser trailer is less than a minute), will be released via satellite on 29th July, 2008 (Tuesday).

Hopefully it will be online soon after it will be released on satellite. And it will be probably also shown with 'The Mummy', which will be relased on 1st August (in US).

A big, 2 min+ trailer will debut sometime in August-September, most likely with 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' which is going to be released on 15th August.

It is named Harry Potter aur Maut Ke Tohfe, as I told you before . With 724 pages, it is available for just 325 INR ( 7.6 USD). Warner Bros is being very lazy for revealing some information... atleast some pics of Half-Blood Prince. But they are focusing on the movie which was released an year ago... Order of the Phoenix! They are release some new pics of Order of the Phoenix, instead of Half-Blood Prince. That is insane!
Anyway, a trailer WILL BE out within coming two months, and if it doesn't come, then I'm gonna kill WB!!! (just joking).

Currently there is nothing to post. Some very tit-bits of news are there, but I don't think they are important so I'm just skipping news and posting only some of the important ones.

Pogo will not air Order of the Pheonix

So it is now crystal clear that Pogo is not going to air Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in hindi (dub).
Generally, Pogo airs all Harry Potter movies. but this time Pogo is going to air only Goblet of Fire and some new movies like Krrish and Dragonheart will be going to be broadcasted in May Movie Magic.

The most important reason for not airing Order of the Phoenix is because 'one year gap' between theatrical release and tv premiere. OOTP, as we all know was released in India on June 13th 2007, and Pogo airs Harry Potter movies in May (each year). So, this clears everything about why Pogo is not going to air OOTP.

Anyway, we all have to wait one big year for Pogo to air OOTP. But enjoy May Movie Magic only on Pogo.

Maut Ke Tohfe...!

There is news coming from Manjul India, the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow's Hindi translation will be called 'Harry Potter aur Maut Ke Tohfe'. Well, the title seems very appropciated but a little funny, don't you think so?

Anyway, 'Maut Ke Tohfe' will be out in your nearest book store in mid of 2008 (i.e. May or June). 'Half Blood Prince' translation is also available for just Rs.275

Deathly Hallows two be split into two parts

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is going to be split into two parts. The director for these two parts will be David Yates and screenplay will be written by steve kloves.
Both these 'two' parts will be release in two consecutive years, i.e. November 2010 and May 2011.
David Heyman says "I went to Jo and she was cool with it". WB is also happy with this decision.
Yates continuing, ""Unlike every other book, you cannot remove elements of this book. You can remove scenes of Ron playing quidditch from the fifth book, and you can remove Hermione and S.P.E.W. [Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare] and those subplots . . . but with the seventh, that can't be done."
Now the question arises, where is the point where they'll split the story into two?
Mr. Yates says, "The question will be, where do you break it? And how do you make them one but two separate and distinct stories? Do you break it with a moment of suspense or one of resolution? These are the interesting challenges. But each book has presented its challenges."
Anyway, only time will prove whether this decision was good or wrong.
I'm not really happy with it.

Jo's new interview

There is a new interview in a scottish newspaper called 'Edinburgh Student'.
Jo confirms that she is writing a new 'Scottish' book and she also talks about Dumbledore's sexuallity and homophobia, and about christian controversies. You can view somee excerpts of this interview at TLC.

Jo writing 'children's book' in cafes' again

The Telegraph is reporting that she is returning again to write in cafes, just as she did writing the Harry Potter series. Jo says:

“I will continue writing for children because that’s what I enjoy,” reveals Jo, who greatly misses the child wizard. “It’s left me with the biggest emptiness in my life.” She will, however, leave behind the magical world of Hogwarts. “I believe that it’s good for me and good for my readers that I bring myself to work on something different,”

Pogo may NOT air Order of the Phoenix

Well, I got some news about May Movie Magic. There is a rumour (yes, rumour) that Pogo will not air Order of the Phoenix until 2009. This delay is because of DVD to TV time.

Harry Potter again Oscarless

So, Academy Awards nominations were declared yesterday and guess what? Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix didn't got even a single nomination...
So heartbreaking! Anyway, Order of the Phoenix has joined Chamber of Secrets, which also was nominated for nothing.

Except the Oscars, OOTP has been very unsucessful in other pretigious awards like BAFTA (Nomintated for only two), Golden Globe (nominated for nothing).
Hope.... This Oscar-thing goes away from Harry Potter with Half-Blood Prince.

December Boys releases in India

Sorry for being late, but December Boys has been released in India on December 27th (Friday) in selected theatres.
Distributed by Warner Bros, it stars Daniel Radcliffe in the lead role. Directed by Rod Hardy, it is the story of 4 orphans.
Movie is having a limited release, so only big multiplex chains (PVR, ADLABS, etc.) will be going to show this movie.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix's US Edition DVD contains some excellent, great and exciting footages (or we can say milisecond clips) of HBP film, which is due to release in 2008. Now I got it why our US friends waited for some long one month.

These sneak peaks contains cast interviews, some behind the scene footage and bunch of very small CCTV footages of HBP. These are-

MuggleIndia 'Order of the Phoenix' DVD Review

Well, it has been a long month since Order of the Phoenix DVD has been released. sorry for being later but here is a brief review-

'Order of the Phoenix- Good as well as very bad DVD'

So folks, enjoying aren't you? I know some of you still haven't owned the Two Disc Special Edition DVD so for those people here is MuggleIndia's Review.

Great Movie (Disc One Review)

What I should say about the film? Ofcourse it is good. And crystal clear video and audio adds more delight into it. Video quality, as expected is great and very clear. Audio is also good but only problem in the audio is its low-pitch sound as compared to the original. Otherwise, I must say the Disc One of Two is great.

What the heck? (Disc Two Review)

'Kya socha tha aur kya paya' That totally fits into the disc two of the Two Disc Special Edition DVD of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. There are 4 extras in the second disc and these are namely-

Deleted Scenes - There were, let me remember, I think 4 or 5 . Yes.. 7. Two of them were totally boring (Trelawney Eating, Malfoy and gang ice fighting and very short clip of Umbridge's polluted hair after Weasley's exit). Other scenes were okay.

Hidden Secrets of Potter - Includes some previous movies' scenes and some cast interviews. Not very special.

Magic of Editing- Very good, but only for some particular audience interested in film making. Good fun.

Trailing Tonks- Best Part of the DVD. Awesomely narrated by Natalia Tena (aka Nymphdora Tonks), includes very personal tour of Nat walking around Leavesden Studios.

There is another extra, sneek peak at sets and quidditch costumes of Half-Blood Prince movie. Nothing very special again.

So Disc Second totally dissapoints us. In short apart from Trailing Tonks 'nothing very special'.

And on a short note, as Warner Home Video's official site says, the US Bluray and HD-DVD Edition will have some more features, more deleted scenes (17 min) and some focus points. Eww... feeling of envy.

Order of the Phoenix DVD released in India

After long wait, Order of the Phoenix DVD has been released in countrywide today. However, some online stores enabled the pre-ordering of the DVD, and in some big stores, in Mumbai and Bangalore it was available since November 15th for Shopping. But today it was released in whole India.

Saregama has released two versions of the movie. One is Two Disc Special Edition DVD (in English only) and the other is movie only VCD (in English and well as Hindi).
Two Disc Special Edition DVD is priced at Rs. 699 (INR / around 17.7 USD)
VCD version is priced at Rs. 299 (INR/ around 7.6 USD) .

It looks like HD-DVD edition and Bluray will NOT going to released in India. But only time will tell...

EDIT: Some of our readers are saying that Bluray has been also released in India, but only in big movie stores in big cities. But again, it should again to be considered as a rumor as I don't have any web-evidance of this news.

Helen McCrory to play Narcissa Malfoy

CBBC Newsround is reporting that Helen McCrory, british actress is all set to play as Bellatrix Lestrange's evil sister, Narcissa Malfoy, wife of Lucious Malfoy and mother of Draco.

Also, the site reports that an"announcement on who will play young Tom Riddle and Lavender Brown is expected very soon."

This is noticable that Helen was orginally casted for Bellatrix's role but she gave up due to her pregnancy.

Daniel Radcliffe, has confirmed to his fansite, DanRadcliffe.com , that he will reprise his role with Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon) in critically acclaimed play 'Equus'. Dan recently has done this role in West End, London. The Daily Mail is also reporting today that the play will go into rehearsals in New York City starting August of 2008.

Jo writes new book for auction

The Tales of Beedle the Bard , this is a book, which will be auctioned for charity, The Children's Voice, with a starting price of £30,000. The book is written by Jo herself, with attractive and well as expensive cover.

The book is overall a bunch of short fairytales, namely-

"The Tale of the Three Brothers"
"The Fountain of Fair Fortune"
"The Wizard and the Hopping Pot"
"Babbitty Rabbitty and her Cackling Stump"
"The Warlock’s Hairy Heart"

All these stories' theme is based in Harry Potter's Wizarding World. All these stories, according to Jo were heard by Ron in his childhood and The Tales of Beedle the Bard was left to Hermione by Hogwarts school headmaster Dumbledore. But... The book will be printed in only 7 copies, 6 for some special people and 1 for auction for charity.

Bad Luck guys, you can't own it, but you can take part in auction if you are in London.

Jo reveals shocking news about Dumbledore

Here at at Carnegie Hall, New York Jo said something shocking, but interesting news about the Hogwarts School Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore.

A young fan asked J.K. Rowling whether Dumbledore finds "true love". Rowling said "Dumbledore is gay" and "fell in love with the charming wizard Gellert Grindelwald but when Grindelwald turned out to be more interested in the dark arts than good, Dumbledore was terribly let down and went on to destroy his rival." That love, she said, was Dumbledore's "great tragedy." The audience reportedly fell silent after Rowling's admission, then erupted into applause.

Well this is a bit weird, our who DD point-of-view will change. Anyway, clever Jo. You might have told us years ago. She told :

"If I'd known it would make you so happy, I would have announced it years ago!"

Let me introduce you to them -

The inital guy is Mr. Rishabh Shukkla, the voice actor of Lord Voldemort.
Next is Karan Trivedi, the voice actor of Harry Potter.
Then is (left) Nachiket Dighe, voice actor of Ron Weasley.
Then from right is (slightly old looking with moustache) Dilip Sinha, voice of Hagrid.
And far... right is Parignya Pandya our Hermione Granger.

WB & Jo sues Kolkata's community

Well, this is a proof of WB and Jo being very protective over Harry. Yesterday, Warner Bros. sued a community based in Kolkata for creating Hogwarts 'look-alike' castle pandal for the upcoming Durga Puja.

For those who don't know, Durga Puja is a festival, celebrated all over India, especially in Bengal.
In this long-running festival, people workship goddess Durga in very attractive temple-like 'pandals'. The community which has summoned at Delhi High Court may have wanted to do something 'different' but, unfortunately- Its all about Loving Harry!

WB wants two million (crore) rupees for permission to present this castle like pandal. This much cost for a pandal is pretty high, anyway.

"We had no clue that we had to seek permission from the author,"

said Santanu Biswas, the head of the community. Best of luck, Mr. Santanu!

The community, obviously don't have enough money to pay fine. The case will start in Delhi High Court on Friday.

UPDATE- The Delhi High Court on Friday refused to restrain a Kolkata-based Durga puja committee from using the statues and images of Harry Potter characters during the nine-day festival. Wow, great news.

Jo got a new member in her family

Our favorite author, J.K. Rowling has got a new member for her family. Oh, no not what you are thinking. She has adopted Sapphire, a retired racing dog from the Greyhound Rescue Fife.

She has also made donation of £1,000 (around 1.5 lakhs) to the shelter's owner, Mrs. Fernie.
According to her-

"When I looked at the cheque I couldn't believe it. The first thing I noticed was the amount she had made it out for. Then I spotted her name and realised who it was. I just said, 'Oh, I didn't recognise you,' and she just smiled politely. She was a lovely woman - the whole family were very nice."

DVD trailer and National Awards

And a very very cool news. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has won 3 out of 6 awards at ITV's National Awards. OOTP has won best family film award, Dan won the Best Male Actor award and Emma won best female actor award. Isn't its great!

Half-Blood Prince Hindi translation released

Wait is over and within 2 months of 'Maya Panchchi Ka Samuh', Harry Potter's 6th Book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince's Hindi translation 'हैरी पॉटर और हाफ - ब्लड प्रिन्स' (i.e. Harry Potter aur Half-Blood Prince) has been released. It is available in your nearest book store for just INR 275. Book is of 570 pages and it is translated by Sudhir Dixit.

One thing to be noted is that the title of 'Half-Blood Prince' hasn't been translated. The word Half-Blood has been same in hindi translations, but Pure-Blood and Mud-Blood are known as 'शुद्ध खून' and 'बदजात' , respectively. Although in movies, term Half-Blood is called 'Milla Jula / मिल जुला ' and words same like 'Half-Blood'. Well I must say people who translated this book are not into innovation.

Confusion Confusion Confusion

Reading the above heading you all also are in confusion? Well it is about OOTP's DVD. Everyone knows that it is going to release one month earlier in UK and one month later in US. Confusion is about deleted scenes. Early reports this month said that there are 7 minutes of additional footage. After that news came out that the additional scenes are of 17 minutes. And now some sites suggests that the deleted scenes are of 30 minutes (as Marcie of DR.net says).
So confusion is what is the real length?

I think this will be going to releaved when we will see the back-artwork of Order of the Phoenix's Two Disc Special Edition.
Hey hang-on one more confusion that, when DVD is going to release in India? Saregama Home Video's site is currently offline for some upgradation so there is no info about his matter. Hopefully all these 'confusions' will be over soon.

HUGE NEWSROUND

So guys it has been lots of time I haven't posted, so here is the huge, but quick newsround. Lots of news is on the net, most of them are excellent but slightly heartbreaking, though.

HBP FILMING STARTED YESTERDAY, JIM BROADBENT IS HORACE SLUGHORN- Yesterday was 17th of September. Official Half-Blood Prince filming has just started. More casting news is that Academy Award winning British actor Jim Broadbent has been casted as Horace Slughorn.

UK DVD TO RELEASE ON 12th NOVEMBER, US (HDDVD, BLURAY) ON 12 DECEMBER
Slightly unfair to US (and may be to India too?) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix's DVD will be going to released on 12 November in UK. More Happy news is that they have increased the length of additional footage to 17 Minutes. Happy news, isn't is!

OOTP DVD to be released on December 11th

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix's different DVD versions and HD-DVD/Bluray versions will be going to released on December 11th (long way) in US. It is unclear when these home videos will be going to released in India or even HDDVD/Bluray will be going to released in India or not.

Prices for HDDVD and Bluray are pretty high though, reaching $34 to $40 (INR Rs. 1380 to Rs. 1630, if they release in India).

Price for Two Disc Special Edition (pretty sure) will be around Rs. 699

There will be special features in Two Disc Editon as well as Bluray and HDDVD. Two Disc Editon features are:

10 minutes of never before seen footage."Trailing Tonks" featurette - Spend a day with Actress Nat Tena and receive a very personal and often wacky tour of the Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix stages.

"Harry Potter: The Magic of Editing" featurette - Director David Yates and Editor Mark Day show us what a difference a good edit makes and then allow you to edit a scene.

"The Hidden Secrets of Harry Potter" featurette - We look for clues in the past Harry Potter films for what the future films may hold.

Plus 10 minutes of addition footage and making clips.

BONHAM REPRISES HER ROLE AS BELLA: Our Wicked Witch playing actress, Helena Bonham Carter will come back in Harry Potter and the Half-Blod Prince too. She is pregnant so she will film her part in the Spring 2008 (March-April).

OOTP WORLDWIDE GROSS CROSSES USD 900 MILLION: Great piece of news it is! Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has crossed the 900 Million (worldwide) mark within just 50 days. Phoenix's current worldwide gross is 911 Million USD, domestic (US) gross is 286 Million and UK gross is 95 Million. Hopefully it will cross one billion mark at the end.

I've got some news (rumored) that OOTP will be priced Rs. 699 (INR of-course!) and will be released around end of september or mid-october! (rumors say November 12)

OOTP soon to reach 900 Million USD world-wide collection

So, as expected Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is just about to cross the $900 million landmark. As of today (27th August 2007), the movie's total world-wide gross is 896 million US$ in just 47 days. Order of the Phoenix's US domestic gross is 283 Million, UK gross is 91 Million and Indian gross is 5 Million USD.
It has broken the world-wide records of Spider-Man 3 and Goblet of Fire too. It should be noticed that GOF's worldwide gross was 892 Million within long 140 days. Whereas OOTP has crossed this figure in just 44 days. Hopefully, OOTP will also cross the 1 Billion figure if it runs for 140 days.

Order of the Phoenix Indian gross reached 56 crores

After 31 days from 250 screens, the Indian gross for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has reached Rs. 56 Crores (around 4.8 million US$), only behind Titanic, Spider-Man 3, Spider-Man 2 and Goblet of Fire.

It will cross 62 crores made by Goblet of Fire in 2 months, probably.

Deathly Hallows sales figures crosses 10 Lakhs

Today, I acknowledge the book, the last book of the Boy who lived... Harry Potter.

Jo's Harry Potter's series final book, the Deathly Hallows, has earner expectedly. over 10 million in US and Uk and now the book has earned 100,000 INR all over.

Isn't its great! Anyway on a very short notes, the screens for Order of the Phoenix has now dropped down to just 40 all over India. Earnings for the Order of the Phoenix in India will be going to released tomorrow officialy, so stay tuned!
